Currents, an installation of five ceramic relief sculptures, was selected for the Hudson Valley Artists Purchase Award 2017
and entered into the  permanent collection of
the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz.

“Throughout my observations of creek waters as they surge, meander, ripple, and drift toward the Hudson River, the words of Heraclitus are always with me.  You never step into the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and you are not the same person ”

These sculptures are inspired by the geologic layers and movement of the Hudson River valley, one of the largest and healthiest tidal estuaries on the Atlantic Coast. The artist’s proximity to a Hudson Valley glacial ravine has deeply influenced this work, prompting reflection on the fundamental relationships among water, landscape, and humanity. “I reflect on the interconnectivity of water and landscape every day, being continually reminded of the vastness of geologic time through my surroundings. …’You never step into the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and you are not the same person.’”
